After completing my master’s in educational psychology at the University of Zululand, I embarked on my professional journey.

Johannesburg Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development (PSYCAD): Internship

I gained valuable experience during my internship at the Johannesburg Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development (PSYCAD). This opportunity allowed me to further develop my skills in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Kenmont School: Learners with Special Needs

Following my internship, I had the privilege of working with learners with special needs at Kenmont School. This experience honed my abilities to support children within a diverse team environment.

University of Kwa-Zulu Natal: Student Counsellor and Clinical Supervision

Continuing my professional growth, I joined the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal as a student counsellor. This role enabled me to assist students who faced various learning challenges. Additionally, I provided clinical supervision for Educational Psychology Interns, fostering collaboration with schools and stakeholders dedicated to providing comprehensive training for intern Educational Psychologists.

Adopting a predominantly humanistic approach, I emphasize compassion and a solution-focused mindset in my therapeutic work. With a pragmatic style, I strive to equip clients with practical skills to address their unique challenges.

Furthermore, I am trained in conducting comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to identify learning barriers. Through a systems approach theory, I understand clients within the context of their systems, including the individual, family, school, and community.
